We had the pleasure of interviewing Against The Current over Zoom video!
New York pop-rock band Against The Current have shared an acoustic version of their recent single “blindfolded.” The new version of the song takes the energetic, fiery original track – the first independent release from the band in seven years– and trades it in for a more mellowed-out feel that allows frontwoman Chrissy Costanza’s captivating vocals to shine.
On the new track, Chrissy shares, “Reimagining our music in different skins has always been central to our identity. The same way we’ve refused to follow the rules of any one music scene or genre, we allow our music to do the same. ‘blindfolded’ (acoustic) lets us tell the same story in different light.”
The initial release of “blindfolded” was featured on Spotify’s All New Rock and Fierce Femmes, Apple Music’s The New Rock and Breaking Rock, Amazon Music’s Fresh Rock, and other notable playlists, as well as landing the band as cover artists on Spotify’s All New Rock playlist.
Against The Current are getting ready to head out on the road for Nightmares & Daydreams World Tour alongside Trophy Eyes and special guests Yours Truly.
Against The Current have earned accolades and a faithful fan following with their brand of pop, rock, and indie sounds. Founded in 2011 by charismatic singer Chrissy Costanza alongside Dan Gow (guitar, vocals) and Will Ferri (drums, keyboards, vocals), the band quickly established themselves as an original force all their own with thrilling live shows, EPs including 2015’s top 3 Billboard Heatseekers breakthrough Gravity and 2021’s fan-favorite Fever, and two studio albums In Our Bones and Past Lives. ATC released an exclusive song – “Legends Never Die” – for the 2017 League Of Legends World Championship. The song has been certified Gold in the United States and Silver in the United Kingdom, has over 464 million streams on Spotify, and the video currently boasts over 235 million views on YouTube.
Against The Current has spent much time either in the studio or on the road, headlining world tours including the 2017-2018 Past Lives World Tour and the current Nightmares & Daydreams World Tour, and sharing international stages with such artists as Fall Out Boy, Good Charlotte, and more.
